OT & Industrial Systems

Net Tech Integration brings specialized operational technology expertise to manufacturers, utilities, and industrial operations throughout North Carolina, southern Virginia, and upstate South Carolina. We assess existing environments, design segmented networks, implement changes around production, and support those networks over time.

Where the office network meets the plant floor

Business systems and control systems increasingly need to exchange data. Production information must reach the office, vendors need secure access to supported equipment, and maintenance teams need reliable visibility. We design those connections deliberately so the organization gets the access it needs without treating the plant floor like an ordinary office network.

A complete engagement, not one stage of it

Net Tech Integration can support the full project lifecycle. The team that assesses your environment stays involved through design, implementation, documentation, and ongoing monitoring.

  1. 01

    Assessment

We document the control environment, including connected assets, access paths, and the points where business and operational networks meet. You receive a clear view of the current state before changes are proposed.

  2. 02

    Design

We design a segmented network around the way your operation runs. The design accounts for production data, historian traffic, vendor access, remote support, and the equipment already in place.

  3. 03

    Implementation

We build around your production schedule. Cutovers are planned for acceptable windows, changes are verified in stages, and the environment is documented as work progresses.

  4. 04

    Segmentation and monitoring

Networks change as equipment, vendors, and access requirements evolve. Ongoing monitoring and management help preserve the separation established during the project.

Same hardware, different priorities

IT and OT networks may use similar switches and firewalls, but they operate under different constraints. Both value security, reliability, and usability; the practical order changes by environment.

Operational Technology

The plant floor, pump station, and control network

  1. UsabilityOperators must be able to run the process safely and effectively.
  2. ReliabilityEquipment may need to operate for years with tightly controlled maintenance windows.
  3. SecurityProtection must be implemented without creating unsafe or unplanned downtime.

Information Technology

The business network, email, file shares, and laptops

  1. SecuritySuspicious activity can often be isolated quickly and patches applied promptly.
  2. ReliabilityUptime matters, but brief maintenance windows are usually manageable.
  3. UsabilityConvenience matters within the organization's security and reliability requirements.

The goals are shared. The operating context determines how they are applied.

Where priorities can conflict

On a business network, rapid patching and isolation are often the right response. On a control network, an unexpected reboot or isolated device can interrupt production or affect safety. Effective OT support accounts for process state, approved maintenance windows, and the role of each asset before a change is made.

OT-focused policies, built around your operation

We develop operating practices for the control environment instead of applying office policies without adjustment. Change windows follow production. Access is limited to the systems and times a user or vendor needs. Monitoring is tuned to the normal behavior of the operation so alerts are meaningful.

When independent oversight is valuable, we are prepared to focus on the OT environment and work alongside a separate business IT provider. We can collaborate with your current team or recommend providers we trust.

Where our scope ends

Net Tech Integration works at the network layer: segmentation, topology, secure connections between business and operational systems, and monitoring. We do not program PLCs or distributed control systems, write process-control logic, or work on safety-instrumented systems. When a project needs a controls engineer, we identify that need early and can help coordinate the work.
